The System – Design Options

Sign Shapes

The denSert system is available in three standard shapes: rectangular, radiused top and wave. denSert signs can also be made in any custom shape or size.

Insert Signs

Insert signs are used in the denSert system for signs that contain information that may change from time to time, such as room use or occupant or directory destinations. Inserts are generally printed on paper and are both economical and easily produced by the end user. The insert sits behind a clear non-glare “window” and is easily inserted from either side of the sign. Some larger inserts (such as maps) are printed on thin plastic materials. These can be provided by denSign or any other sign company.

Basic Signs

Basic signs are used where the information is highly unlikely to change, such as washrooms, utility rooms, cafeterias, etc..

First or Second Surface Graphics

All denSert signs have the background colour(s) on the second surface of non-glare acrylic. Permanent information — a room number, can be either on the first or second surface of the acrylic face. Although second surface graphics are more costly and are permanent, they offer the advantage of being tamper resistant. First surface graphics allow the end user to stock blank signs and have them lettered as needs arise. They are also changeable.

Tactile Graphics

Tactile graphics are lettering and symbols that are raised 1/32” and can be felt to read by the visually impaired. Tactile graphics are, of course, on the first surface and are not changeable. They can be produced in any colour to contrast with the background colour for those who are visually able.

Braille

In addition to tactile graphics denSert signs are available with Braille for the visually impaired.

Projecting Signs

In some instances a single or double-sided sign projecting (perpendicular to the wall) is required for visibility. denSert projecting signs are available in both insert and basic variations.

Occupancy Sliders Signs

Occupancy sliders are used to indicate the state of use of a room. For example, In Use/Vacant on the sign for a meeting room. Sliders can be incorporated into both insert and basic signs.
